Headed to the mountains

We're headed to the mountains this weekend! We'll leave after Gabe is done with school tomorrow and then spend the weekend at the cabin with Grandpa and Grandma. I think Kerry is going to be helping Grandpa open some cabins and do a little work up there.

Gabe didn't have school today because his teacher's daughter is sick. So it was nice to be home as a family today. The boys had fun playing outside and we did a little "school work" before lunch. It looks like they are going to be moving more towards a home school co-op, where we will homeschool our kids and then meet as a group 1-2 times per week. Those days we'll focus on things we may not be able to do at home, like music, art, science and foreign language. So we're looking at different homeschool curriculum for the boys. We'd like to start something with Otto and Gabe both. So if anyone has suggestions, we're open to them. :)
With the co-op the boys will still be able to get together with their friends and we can still go on field trips as a group.

The boys got their awards at Awana last night, which is our Wednesday night church group. Gabe will move to Sparkies next year and Otto will stay in Cubbies. We had 3 highschool kids get Citation awards and 4 get Timothy awards. The Citation awards are for Seniors who have memorized over 700 verses, read and summarized all of the books of the Bible. It's a really big deal and very special to have so many from our group get them.

I'm teaching online for HCC again this summer as well as getting my summer course for PCC ready to go. Kerry is still working on his online classes and will have a paper due again this weekend. Gabe only has about 2 or 3 more weeks of school leftbefore he's on summer break. They will have a little awards night at the end of the month.

Things here are going well. We're slowly going through things trying to get ready for a garage sale sometime this summer. We're also looking for another house to rent because we need a little more room. We may just stay here too, especially if our house in Kansas doesn't sell. But be assured, we're not planning on moving back. :) We do really like it here. If we can't get it sold, we'll try to rent it out again for another year and sell it next summer.

We hope all is going well with you. We love you and are looking forward to seeing you at the end of the month.
