Trip to the zoo

Gabe's school got cancelled yesterday due to an outbreak of pink eye and illness. So after running a few erands in the morning we headed off to Cheyenne Mountain zoo. It's a pretty zoo built on the side of a mountain. Which means a lot of uphill walking! Kerry and I got our workout pushing the boys up the hill in the strollers. We got to see lots of animals up close and the boys got to hold a hissing cockroach, touch several snakes and geckos. It rained a little an we got holed up in a building that is mostly hands on so they enjoyed that a lot! They also got to feed a hawk crickets which was neat to watch. In fact, we were so busy watching we didn't take too many pictures. I'll get Kerry to put them on my computer and I'll upload them this weekend hopefully.

Gabe did have school today, but still quite a few kids gone. This evening we went to Pastor Craig and Denise's house for dessert and to discuss the website Kerry and I are building for our church. The boys had a great time playing with toys and jumping on the basement couch! In fact, the first words out of Gabe's mouth as we were crossing the street to leave were "when are we coming back again?"

I'm working on putting the finishing touches on lectures for my summer class that starts next week. We're also planning on going up to the cabin this weekend for some R&R! Ha ha. Actually, Kerry is going to be working and I'll probably be getting ready for class. Next week is Gabe's last week of school and D day for SHARE. It will be a busy week so a weekend in the mountains sounds nice.

Have a great week(end).
